Shoes for a Beginner
  • LukeyLukey November 2011
I work in Cotswold Outdoor and I've just done a beginners course at the reach in Woolwich. I absolutely loved it and I'm looking at getting some shoes as the rental ones are pretty rank. What's the best shoe for a beginner? bearing in mind that i have a large discount and the price isn't too much of an issue.
    cheers

    Hi Lukey,

We all have our favourites! I'm not a great believer in getting a cheap shoe just because you are a begineer. If it was me I would go for a 5.10 Anasazi Velcro. Great all round shoe

    Hi,

you will come to your favorite shoes by more and more climbing. My advice is to think over about.

Do you prefer velcro, shoelaces or nothing about that?
Will you do bouldering, rock climbing, indoor climbing or mountaineering?

And than it is lot easier to recommend you which shoos to buy.

    I agree with Fearnster.

Howdy, Stranger!
